Carissa Citro received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and minor in Deaf Studies at the State University of New Paltz in 2015. She continued her education at the University at Buffalo where she earned her Doctorate of Audiology.
Prior experiences include serving as a clinician for 4 years on Long Island where she facilitated the Cochlear Provider Network program. She completed a residency at Northwell health, LIJ Medical Center where she provided a full range of audiologic services for patients of all ages. Her audiologic interests include pediatrics, cochlear implants, and amplification across the lifespan. Dr. Citro prioritizes personalized hearing healthcare by providing extensive counseling to patients and their caregivers. She has attended many professional development conferences to keep up to date with best practices. Dr. Citro is proud to work closely with “Help America Hear” and is the coordinator for the organization’s 5K fundraiser.
Dr. Citro recently spent 8 months living in Málaga, Spain with her husband! She completed an intensive Spanish course and continues to develop her language skills. In her spare time Dr. Citro enjoys listening to podcasts, fitness and relaxing with family and friends.
