As a licensed audiologist at Hudson Valley Audiology, Dr. Melissa Harawitz combines high-level clinical expertise with a deeply personal approach to patient care. Having spent most of her life in the Hudson Valley, she is honored to provide life-changing hearing solutions to the community she calls home.
Dr. Harawitz has dedicated her vast educational focus to helping others hear; earning her Bachelor of Science in communication disorders from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, her Master of Science in Audiology from Hunter College, and her Doctor of Audiology degree at Salus University. In addition, she holds the esteemed Certificate of Clinical Competence in audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Clinically, Dr. Harawitz has extensive experience in various New York City medical centers and educational settings. She specializes in complex hearing needs, including cochlear implants and advanced assistive technology. Dr. Harawitz frequently collaborates directly with manufacturers to stay at the forefront of hearing innovation, which presents a unique perspective on the intersection of technology and human communication. She doesn’t just fit devices; she partners with her patients to understand their unique communication challenges and find solutions that truly fit and enhance their lives.
Outside the office, Dr. Harawitz and her husband treasures family time, which includes keeping up with her teenage sons and cheering on their favorite sports teams.
